About the event

You are invited to come treat yourself to deep, nourishing rest infused with medicine music and community and to be in tune with the moon. Join me for a community gathering in Denver, CO on the Monday evening closest to the new moon each month from 7-8:30 pm. Tune in to honor the cycles of nature and our bodies. Relax the nervous system, nourish yourself, and plant seeds of intention from a resourced place with the support of the ancient practice of yoga nidrā. Enjoy a song (at least one) aligned with the energy of the new moon and the current season to further support connection with yourself, with nature, and with life as you re-member your natural state of being.

If this calls you, then I look forwards to seeing you there!

What is yoga nidrā?:

Yoga nidrā is an ancient technique much like a guided meditation. It is literally translated as “yoga of sleep”. Yoga means “conscious awareness” and nidrā means “sleep”, so yoga nidrā is a practice of bringing conscious awareness to the state of sleep. It is done in a supported horizontal position allowing for maximal comfort and deep rest. Conscious nap time anyone?

Einstein said “you can’t solve a problem with the same thinking that created it”. Yoga nidrā is one method to alter thinking by significantly slowing it down, just as it slows during deep sleep. From slower, deeper, more relaxed states of consciousness, solutions to problems become clear in the spaciousness between thoughts. Usually our bodies heal and repair during this state and we have no awareness of it at all. In yoga nidrā we might catch a glimpse of the magic that unfolds when regular thinking gets out of the way but awareness and deeper intellect is still intact. Consider trying it out with me. Come prepared to stay warm and cozy with socks and comfortable clothes. Mats and blankets will be provided, or you can bring you own if you like!
