About the event

Women’s Circle on the Sunday Closest to the Full Moon from 9:30-11:00 am MST ONLINE

Women of the Earth, this is a space to come together each month and witness what is illuminated in our lives under the light of the full moon. While the new moon is a time of intention and cultivation, the full moon is a time of culmination and reflection. The full moon shines light on the corners of our lives that are usually in the dark, and if we take time to look it can offer invaluable insight about where we are at. In this case, we can share and be witnessed by community if we choose, which can be very supportive and healing. Visit the illuminated inner temple, connect with the moon and the ebbing and flowing waters of life, and rest in radiance with yoga nidrā, prayerful song, and community.

What is yoga nidrā?:

Yoga nidrā is an ancient technique much like a guided meditation. It is literally translated as “yoga of sleep”. Yoga means “conscious awareness” and nidrā means “sleep”, so yoga nidrā is a practice of bringing conscious awareness to the state of sleep. It is done in a supported horizontal position allowing for maximal comfort and deep rest. Conscious nap time anyone?

Einstein said “you can’t solve a problem with the same thinking that created it”. Yoga nidrā is one method to alter thinking by significantly slowing it down, just as it slows during deep sleep. From slower, deeper, more relaxed states of consciousness, solutions to problems become clear in the spaciousness between thoughts. Usually our bodies heal and repair during this state and we have no awareness of it at all. In yoga nidrā we might catch a glimpse of the magic that unfolds when regular thinking gets out of the way but awareness and deeper intellect is still intact. Consider trying it out with me. Come prepared to stay warm and cozy with socks and comfortable clothes. Mats and blankets will be provided, or you can bring you own if you like!
